KOTA KINABALU: Pertubuhan Kebudayaan Rumpun Dayak Sabah (PKRDS) President Cleftus Mojingol (pic) said much has been said against and for Zakir Naik by leaders of the ruling party including by Tun Mahathir Mohamad, but we are no near a satisfying conclusion.
“The controversial Islam preacher who spewed venoms in his speeches seems to have special protection from the ruling elites especially the interim PM although much has been said against and for Zakir Naik by leaders of the ruling party including by Tun Mahathir Mohamad,” Cleftus said .
He therefore call on PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to reveal his take on the issue. “Does Anwar, like Mahathir, wish to keep Zakir here in Malaysia or send him back to India to face charges of money laundering and others,” he asked.
“While it is a gone conclusion on Mahathir, he is against sending Zakir home, we the rakyat want to know Anwar’s stand, as he eventually should be our PM.
“Anwar cannot be silent on the Zakir’s matter which is going to heat up debates among Malaysians, between those who want him deported and those who welcome his overstay in the country,” Cleftus added
“Which is more important? Protecting the 32 million Malaysians or protecting one foreign individual who is wanted in his own country?
“What does Malaysia get by giving the person permanent resident status? Have we gained something from Zakir, as a country? Or that only a few individuals have gained from their association with Zakir Naik?
“Mr Anwar please state your stand,” he insists.
Cleftus ended his statement sited by BS by saying that he “also would ask Anwar whether it is true or not that the Federal Cabinet are evenly divided between those who want to keep Zakir and those who wish for his quick deportation?”
